                    This painting and the next two paintings to be posted were completed in practice for the 2011 Abilympics Skills competition. The competition will take place in September in Soul Korea. I am a member of team Canada and will be competeing in the four hour long painting category.

The past few weeks have been spent working on practice paintings trying to find the most successful composition, color pallet and style for a theme of the painting competition: Flowers and Passion.

Process: The canvas material was dyed by coating it in layers of acrylic paint, letting the paint dry and then washing it out. The canvas material was hung on a cloths line to dry for a day. Next the canvas material was ironed flat, and then stretched for a canvas. Lastly oil paint was used to do the swatches of color and the flower details.
